Drivers – and cigarettes

OK, first thing, YES I am that horrid of all things - a reformed smoker. I stopped smoking when I was eighteen, after smoking on and off since I was 13, anything up to a pack a day. Even still I think I have a couple of valid points to make;

Why drive along with your cigarette hanging out of the window? 

Why? 

I'll tell you why - cause it stinks - you don't want a smelly car, you don't want the wife/hubby to know you've been smoking again, you're not allowed to stink up your company car. So you hang it out the window... or flick it out the window... into our path, into the fresh air that we breathe, into the air which moves into our helmets. 

Would you stand in front of me and flick ash in my face? 

I doubt it. 

So why do it when you're driving? I know riders who've had live butts blown into their helmets and been burnt by them. 

Would you dare to come and put your fag out on my leathers? 

Nah... I don't think so. 

But that's what happens if I filter past your car. 

Next time you hang that hand with a lit fag out your window... just think what will happen if I give that hand a tap back in your direction... and you drop that fag into your lap.. think about it.

Next time you go to flick that live fag end out your window.. just think what it would be like if I throw last weeks manky earplugs into your open window.. would you appreciate that?... think about it.
